Last updated: April 2026 Company No. 16345818 — Incorporated in England and Wales Registered Office: Unit 13 Freeland Park, Wareham, BH16 6FA, United Kingdom
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the WinPlay platform at thewinplay.com and your participation in all WinPlay competitions, including Spot the Ball challenges and the WinPlay Premier League (WPL). By creating an account or participating in any WinPlay competition, you agree to these Terms in full.
1. About WinPlay
WinPlay Private Limited operates two skill-based competition formats:
Spot the Ball — A daily and monthly precision challenge where participants submit coordinate guesses for the location of a digitally removed ball in a sports photograph. Winners are determined by mathematical proximity using the Euclidean distance formula.
WinPlay Premier League (WPL) — A daily image-based quiz championship where participants answer 20 questions within a 5-minute session. Monthly leaderboard rankings determine prize winners.
Both competitions are free to enter. Neither constitutes gambling, a lottery, or a game of chance. Both are skill-based competitions as defined under applicable Indian and UK law.
2. Eligibility
To participate in any WinPlay competition you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a resident of India
- Hold a valid, verified WinPlay account with accurate personal details
- Not be an employee, officer, director, or agent of WinPlay Private Limited, or an immediate family member of any such person
- Not be involved in the administration, verification, or prize fulfilment of any WinPlay competition
One account per person is permitted. Duplicate accounts are grounds for immediate disqualification and permanent account suspension. WinPlay reserves the right to verify participant identity and age at any time, including at the point of prize claiming.
3. Spot the Ball — Competition Rules
3.1 Entry
Each eligible participant may submit one coordinate entry per Spot the Ball challenge. Entries are submitted by placing a marker on the challenge image at the participant's chosen (x, y) coordinate. Entries are locked upon submission and cannot be amended.
3.2 Ball Position Verification
Before any Spot the Ball challenge opens to participants, a panel of independent sports analysts determines the verified ball position by marking the ball's centre on the original unedited photograph. Their assessments are averaged, timestamped, and sealed in a secure record. This verified position cannot be altered after the competition opens. The verified position is published in the Winners Circle after each challenge closes.
3.3 Winner Determination
The winner of each Spot the Ball challenge is the participant whose submitted coordinate produces the lowest Euclidean distance score — calculated as √((x₂-x₁)² + (y₂-y₁)²) — from the verified ball position. In the event of identical Euclidean distances, the participant who submitted their entry earliest in time (recorded to the millisecond) is declared the winner.
3.4 Accuracy Tiers and Leaderboard Points
Submissions are scored by accuracy tier: Bullseye (0–2 pixels, 5 points), Expert (2–10 pixels, 4 points), Great (10–25 pixels, 3 points), Good (25–50 pixels, 2 points), Participant (50+ pixels, 1 point). Monthly leaderboard standings accumulate daily points throughout the calendar month.
3.5 Image Usage
All sports photography used in Spot the Ball challenges is rights-cleared or commissioned by WinPlay. Participants may not reproduce, distribute, or publish challenge images without WinPlay's written consent.
4. WinPlay Premier League (WPL) — Competition Rules
4.1 Daily Sessions
A new WPL session goes live each day with a topic announced at session open. Each session comprises 20 image-based questions with four answer options each (A, B, C, D). Participants have a single 5-minute timer for the entire session. There is no per-question time limit within the 5-minute window.
4.2 Scoring
A correct first-attempt answer earns 10 points. An incorrect first-attempt answer triggers a short video advertisement, after which the participant receives one second-chance attempt on the same question. A correct second-attempt answer earns 5 points. An incorrect second-attempt answer ends the session immediately, locking the participant's score at points accumulated to that moment.
4.3 Speed Bonus
Participants who complete all 20 questions within the 5-minute window earn a speed bonus: +20 points for completion under 2 minutes, +10 points for completion between 2:00 and 3:30, and +5 points for completion between 3:31 and 5:00. Participants who do not complete all 20 questions receive no speed bonus. The maximum possible score in a single WPL session is 220 points.
4.4 Timer During Video Advertisements
The 5-minute session timer pauses automatically when a video advertisement plays following a wrong first-attempt answer. The timer resumes when the advertisement ends. Participants are not penalised for the duration of the advertisement.
4.5 Session Termination
A session terminates when: (a) the participant answers incorrectly on a second attempt; (b) the 5-minute timer expires before all 20 questions are answered; or (c) the participant exits or closes the session. Terminated sessions are not replayable. Session scores lock at the point of termination.
4.6 Monthly Championship
Daily session scores accumulate throughout the calendar month into a running leaderboard. To qualify for monthly prizes, a participant must have completed WPL sessions on a minimum of 20 separate calendar days within that month. Days on which a participant does not play contribute zero to the monthly total but do not reduce existing accumulated points.
4.7 Monthly Winner Determination
At midnight on the final day of each calendar month, the leaderboard locks. Rankings are determined in the following sequence: (1) highest total monthly points; (2) most days played; (3) lowest cumulative completion time across all sessions; (4) fewest second-chance attempts used; (5) earliest registered WinPlay account.
4.8 Prize Eligibility and Announcement
Monthly prize tiers are announced on the 1st of each calendar month before any sessions have been played. Rank 1 wins the flagship prize for that month. Ranks 2–3 win mid-tier prizes. Ranks 4–10 win standard prizes. To be eligible for prizes, participants must meet the minimum 20-day participation requirement and pass identity verification.
4.9 WPL Video Advertisements
The second-chance mechanism in WPL includes a mandatory short video advertisement as disclosed in these Terms and on the WPL page. This advertisement is part of the game mechanic and is presented to participants as a disclosed feature of the free-to-play model. Participants consent to this advertisement format by participating in WPL.
5. Prizes — Both Competitions
5.1 Prize Notification
Winners are notified within 24 hours of a Spot the Ball challenge closing, and within 48 hours of the monthly WPL leaderboard locking, via their registered email address and phone number.
5.2 Identity Verification
Before any prize is dispatched, the winner must provide valid government-issued photo identification (Aadhaar card, PAN card, or Passport) to confirm identity and age eligibility. WinPlay reserves the right to disqualify any prize claim where identity cannot be verified or where eligibility conditions are not met.
5.3 Prize Delivery
All prizes are delivered to Indian addresses at no cost to the winner. WinPlay works with established courier partners and provides tracking information once shipments are booked. Standard dispatch time is 5–7 working days from identity verification. WinPlay is not responsible for delays caused by courier services or factors outside WinPlay's control.
5.4 Prize Substitution
In the event a specific prize becomes unavailable due to supply, logistics, or discontinuation, WinPlay will offer the winner either an equivalent substitute prize of equal or greater value, or a cash equivalent transferred to the winner's verified bank account. WinPlay will communicate any substitution directly with the winner.
5.5 Unclaimed Prizes
Prizes not claimed within 30 days of winner notification — due to non-response, failed verification, or ineligibility — may be reallocated to the next eligible participant.
6. Fair Play and Prohibited Conduct
The following conduct is strictly prohibited across all WinPlay competitions:
- Operating multiple accounts or sharing accounts
- Using automated tools, bots, scripts, or any software to gain an unfair advantage in either competition
- Reverse-searching or using third-party tools to locate original Spot the Ball images and determine actual ball positions
- Sharing or purchasing session answers for WPL
- Coordinating with other participants to manipulate leaderboard positions
- Any form of misrepresentation during registration or prize claiming
WinPlay reserves the right to disqualify participants, withhold prizes, and permanently ban accounts for any violation of fair play standards. Decisions regarding disqualification are final.
7. Advertising
WinPlay is an ad-supported platform. Display advertisements appear in the lobby and results sections of Spot the Ball challenges. In WPL, a short video advertisement plays during the second-chance mechanic as disclosed above. WinPlay operates in compliance with Google AdSense programme policies and maintains the Ad Integrity standards described in the Privacy Policy and Ad Integrity Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on thewinplay.com — including but not limited to challenge images, the Spot the Ball plugin, the WPL quiz system, scoring algorithms, logos, graphics, and written content — is the intellectual property of WinPlay Private Limited or its licensed content providers. Account termination results in forfeiture of any accumulated points, prizes pending verification, or leaderboard positions.
Participants may voluntarily close their account at any time by contacting support@thewinplay.com. Data deletion requests will be processed within 30 days in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
10. Limitation of Liability
WinPlay Private Limited's liability to any participant is limited to the value of the prize that participant would have been entitled to claim under these Terms. WinPlay is not liable for: technical failures beyond its reasonable control; connectivity issues affecting session performance in WPL; delays in prize delivery caused by third-party couriers; or indirect, consequential, or incidental losses of any kind.
11. Changes to These Terms
WinPlay reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to registered participants via email and posted on the website with an updated effective date. Continued participation after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. For participants resident in India, these Terms are additionally subject to applicable Indian law including the Indian Contract Act 1872, the Information Technology Act 2000, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. Disputes may be referred to the competent courts of England and Wales or the competent courts of Kerala, India, at the election of the participant.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is WinPlay free to enter? Yes. Both Spot the Ball and WPL are completely free. No entry fee, subscription, or purchase is ever required.
Q: Is this a lottery? No. WinPlay operates two skill-based competitions. Spot the Ball winners are determined by mathematical coordinate precision. WPL winners are determined by accumulated knowledge accuracy and speed over a full month. Neither competition uses random selection at any stage.
Q: How is the Spot the Ball winner determined? The Euclidean distance between every participant's submitted coordinate and the independently verified ball position is calculated. The participant with the smallest distance wins. If two participants have identical distances, the earlier submission wins.
Q: How is the WPL monthly winner determined? By highest accumulated monthly points. Tie-breakers in order: most days played, lowest total completion time, fewest second-chance attempts, earliest registered account.
Q: What if I have a complaint? Contact support@thewinplay.com. We acknowledge all complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 14 working days.
