About Us
India's Free Daily Skill-Based Sports Competition Platform
WinPlay began with a simple observation. In the UK, Spot the Ball is a legendary high-stakes tradition — but these competitions were almost always hidden behind a paywall. We believe that true sports intuition should never have a price tag.
We built WinPlay specifically for the serious sports fan — the person who spends their weekends analysing every curve of a cricket ball, every striker's run in a football match, every bowler's wrist position at the crease. By moving from a traditional ticket-price model to a transparent, ad-supported platform, we have made the game accessible to everyone in India, permanently and completely free.
Our mission is simple: turn sports knowledge and general expertise into real-world rewards through daily skill-based competitions, for a community of fans who trust their intelligence.
Two Ways to Win on WinPlay
WinPlay offers two distinct skill competitions, both free, both daily, both paying out real prizes to the sharpest players.
Spot the Ball — Precision Coordinate Challenge
A professional sports photograph is presented with the ball digitally removed. Your task is to use your knowledge of player biomechanics, ball physics, eye-line trajectories, and game context to pinpoint the ball's exact location on a precision coordinate grid. One submission per player per challenge. The winner is determined by the Euclidean distance formula — the participant whose coordinate is mathematically closest to the independently verified ball position wins the featured prize. No random draw. Pure precision.
WPL — WinPlay Premier League
A daily 20-question image-based quiz championship. Each session presents a different topic — Famous Footballers, World Landmarks, Bollywood Stars, Sports Legends, and more — with a single 5-minute timer for all 20 questions. Correct first-time answers earn 10 points. A wrong answer triggers a second chance (5 points if correct). A second wrong answer ends your session. Speed bonuses reward players who complete all 20 questions quickly. Daily scores accumulate into a monthly leaderboard — the top 10 players at month-end win real prizes, from flagship smartphones at Rank 1 to smart bands at Rank 10.
Both games share the same account, the same leaderboard infrastructure, and the same prize delivery system. Both are skill-based competitions. Both are completely free to play.
WinPlay at a Glance
Always Free to Play — Zero entry fees on both Spot the Ball and WPL. No subscriptions, no purchases, no credit card required at any stage.
Daily Challenges — Fresh Spot the Ball challenges and fresh WPL sessions every 24 hours without exception.

Ad-Supported Model — Funded entirely by premium advertising and brand partnerships, never by our players.
Transparent Verification — Every Spot the Ball winner's submitted coordinate and the verified ball position are published publicly in our Winners Circle. WPL monthly leaderboards are published in full at month-end.
Shipping Included — All prizes from both competitions are delivered anywhere in India at no cost to winners.
The Skill Foundation
Both WinPlay games are built on the same philosophical foundation: the outcome is determined entirely by what you know and how well you apply it. Neither game has a random element.
What Spot the Ball Tests
Biomechanical Observation — Reading athlete body language, identifying points of physical exertion, and understanding how the human body moves at the moment of ball contact.
Predictive Physics — Calculating ball trajectories based on environmental cues, Magnus effect spin, launch angles, and player positioning.
Spatial Intelligence — Mapping three-dimensional sports action onto a two-dimensional digital plane using shadow analysis, eye-line triangulation, and depth estimation.
What WPL Tests
Breadth of General Knowledge — Topics rotate daily across sports, geography, entertainment, history, science, and culture. Deep knowledge in one domain is less valuable than broad knowledge across many.
Visual Recognition — Every question is image-based. Reading, interpreting, and recalling from photographs is the core mechanic — not text recall.
Time Management — One 5-minute clock for 20 questions. How you allocate your time across easy and difficult questions directly determines your speed bonus and completion status.
Consistency — The monthly championship format rewards players who perform well every day, not players who have one exceptional session and disappear.
Players who study and develop these skills consistently outperform casual participants in both games. This is the measurable skill differential that makes WinPlay a competition, not a lottery.
Why the Spot the Ball Position Uses Expert Judgement
The ball position in Spot the Ball challenges is not the actual ball location from the original photograph. This is a deliberate and important design principle.
If the true ball position were the answer, any player could search for the original image online and submit the exact correct coordinates — making the competition trivially easy to cheat. The outcome would be random among whoever found the image first.
Instead, WinPlay uses the independently judged position: where a panel of sports experts believes the ball to be, based on biomechanics, player positioning, physics, and game context. Players are not finding the ball — they are demonstrating that their sports reasoning matches expert-level analysis.
This design principle, unchanged since Spot the Ball was invented in 1950s Britain, is the mechanism that keeps the competition honest, uncheateable, and genuinely skill-based. It is also the reason the competition is legally distinct from a quiz, a lottery, or a game of chance under Indian and UK law.
Our Image Rights and Content Standards
All sports photography used in WinPlay's Spot the Ball challenges is either licensed through commercial image licensing agreements, sourced from rights-cleared stock photography providers, or commissioned specifically for WinPlay. We do not use images scraped from news sites, social media, or broadcast footage.
All images used in WPL quiz questions are similarly sourced through licensed or rights-cleared channels. Each image undergoes a rights clearance check before being published in any competition. This ensures WinPlay operates in full compliance with copyright law and Google's content policies.
Ad Integrity: Our Commitment to Fairness
WinPlay is a premium, ad-supported platform. We are committed to the highest standards of advertising transparency.
The 100px Interaction Buffer — A dedicated CSS safety zone surrounds all gameplay elements in Spot the Ball to prevent unintentional ad clicks.
Natural Break Placement — In Spot the Ball, advertisements appear only in the lobby before a game begins and in the results section after it closes — never during active gameplay. In WPL, advertisements appear between sessions and during the second-chance video ad mechanism, which is disclosed to players as part of the game mechanic.
No-Incentive Policy — We never offer rewards, extra entries, or gameplay advantages in exchange for ad engagement. Every ad interaction on WinPlay is driven by the natural game mechanics or genuine user interest.
No Artificial Traffic — WinPlay's traffic is generated entirely through organic search, social media, and direct navigation. We do not purchase traffic, use traffic exchange programmes, employ bots or click farms, or use any technique to artificially inflate ad impressions or click-through rates.
No Ad Manipulation — We do not use pop-unders, interstitials that block content, or any placement technique designed to generate accidental clicks. Users have full navigational control at all times.
Responsible Gaming
Although WinPlay is not a gambling platform, we take player wellbeing seriously across both game types.
We enforce a strict 18+ age requirement, verified at registration. Our daily format — one Spot the Ball challenge and one WPL session per day — is intentionally designed for brief, focused engagement rather than extended compulsive play. WinPlay does not use dark patterns, artificial urgency mechanics, or psychological pressure techniques beyond what is inherent to the game mechanics disclosed to players.
Players who wish to close their account or request deletion of their personal data can do so at any time under our Privacy Policy. All requests are honoured within 30 days.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is WinPlay legal in India? Yes. Both Spot the Ball and WPL are skill-based competitions, legally distinct from gambling or lottery under Indian law. Outcomes are determined entirely by measurable skill — coordinate precision for Spot the Ball, and knowledge accuracy plus speed for WPL. WinPlay Private Limited is incorporated in England and Wales (Company No. 16345818) and operates in compliance with applicable Indian and UK law.
Q: Are both games really free? Yes. Both Spot the Ball and WPL are completely free to enter. WinPlay is funded by display advertising and brand sponsorships. In WPL specifically, a short video ad plays during the second-chance mechanic — this is disclosed as part of the game rules and is the mechanism through which WPL generates revenue while remaining free to play.
Q: Can I play both games with the same account? Yes. One WinPlay account gives you access to both Spot the Ball challenges and WPL sessions. Your account, profile, and prize delivery address are shared across both games.
Q: Why is the Spot the Ball answer based on expert judgement? Because using the actual ball position would allow players to cheat by reverse-searching the original photograph. Expert judgement ensures only genuine sports analysis produces a winning result — not search engine skill.
Q: How does WPL determine the monthly winner? Monthly rankings are determined first by highest total accumulated points, then by most days played, then by lowest total completion time, then by fewest second-chance attempts used, and finally by earliest registered account. Full details are on the WPL page.
Q: Does WinPlay use paid or artificial traffic? No. All traffic is organic — from search engines, social media, and direct navigation. We do not purchase traffic or use any technique to artificially inflate advertising impressions.
Q: What is WinPlay's responsible gaming policy? WinPlay enforces 18+ age verification. Both daily games are designed for brief, focused sessions — not extended compulsive play. Players can request account closure or full data deletion at any time, honoured within 30 days.
Q: What happens if a prize cannot be fulfilled? WinPlay will offer the winner an equivalent prize of equal or greater value, or a full cash equivalent to their verified bank account. WinPlay maintains a prize fulfilment reserve to honour all active competitions.
Q: Who can I contact with questions? Email support@thewinplay.com or use the contact form on our Contact Us page. We respond within 24–48 hours, Monday to Friday.
